🚫 The Young Lords Party: A Revolution That Went Silent
🗓️ 1970s to 2025: A Testimony from the Inside
🏙️ Back When the Bronx Was Burnin’ and Hope Was Scarce
Yo, lemme take you back. It’s 1970—Lower East Side, NYC. Real grime, no TikToks, no Uber Eats. Just blocks full of Puerto Rican families stuck in broken buildings with no heat, no future, and no one giving a damn.
That’s when I jumped in with the Young Lords Party—not the safe, museum-friendly version folks parade now. I’m talkin’ the real, raw Young Lords. Fists up, boots down. We was deep in it—CDC, “Committee to Defend the Community”—we wasn't just yelling, we was organizing. Running food programs, locking down community centers, and straight pressuring the government to cough up money to feed our own.
We had our own clinics. Our own education programs. We hit the pavement harder than most “activists” today ever will. While they making TikToks, we was takin’ over churches and building free breakfast joints for the kids.
📚 Red Books, Big Dreams... and The First Signs of the Grift
I was deep in it, bro. Reading Mao, Marx, Che—my mind on fire with that revolutionary gospel. We thought we could flip the system on its head.
In ’72, I flew out to Puerto Rico—repping Casa Puerto Rico FEPI at the First National Congress of FUPI. Lived at Juan Mari Brás’s house, wrote for Claridad, and was one of the cats behind the El Mundo newspaper strike. That joint was shut down for seven months. We was swinging hard against colonialism and that American empire grip.
But later that year, I dipped into the U.S. Army—not to sell out, but to peep the system from the inside.
And fam... that’s when the curtain dropped.
🧠 Truth Bomb: I Was a Poverty Pimp Too
I saw it in the mirror. I’d become the very thing I hated. All them grants, all them programs—I was moving money and shaping lives, but getting high on that power trip. That “activist fame” is a drug. And a lotta folks never came back down.
The revolution became a hustle.
And the so-called leaders? Man, they still cashin’ in.
🎭 Where They At Now?
Let’s name names.
Angela Davis (81): Still selling rebellion from university stages like it’s a TED Talk.
Juan González (77): Co-signing woke narratives on Democracy Now!
Mickey Melendez, Bill Ayers, Denise Oliver-Velez (mid-70s to 80s): Publishing books, riding the nostalgia wave.
Black Lives Matter heads? Caught flipping $90M into mansions and not a damn cent for the hood.
Meanwhile, the blocks they claimed to fight for? Still broke. Still bleeding.
⚠️ Hijacked Movements & Miseducated Kids
This new era ain’t no different—it’s just more dressed up.
DEI? CRT? LGBTQ™? That’s the new hustle. They swapped the berets for rainbow filters and identity checklists. Instead of teaching boys how to be men, they out here gaslighting entire generations with guilt and confusion.
2015: Ferguson on fire.
2020: Seattle’s CHAZ turned into some anarchist Disneyland.
2021: CRT beef at every school board in America.
None of it built the community. Just made people more divided, confused, and easy to control.
💣 This Ain’t Progress—It’s a Setup
Don’t get it twisted—this ain’t “liberation.” It’s poverty pimping on steroids. They weaponized pain, repackaged struggle, and sold it back to us for clout and grant money. They ain’t trying to free nobody—they building careers off keeping folks broken.
💥 Where I Stand Now (And Why You Should Care)
I walked away from all that. Left the U.S. for real. Retired, yes—but not silenced. I’m building again—from the outside in. This time, no grants. No politics. Just truth.
We got a Discord community that’s pulling receipts, exposing the real hustlers—politicians, influencers, NGOs, all of ’em. And we naming names.
If you’re Gen X, Y, or Z and wondering why everything’s upside down... this is why.

🎯 Final Word
The Young Lords had fire. But they went quiet when the checks started clearing. We ain’t going silent this time.
This ain’t nostalgia—it’s accountability. You either wake up or get played.
